The gameplay of Brush Jjaemu revolves around a simple cycle of brushing, watching, and stopping. When Jjaemu is facing away, you can move the brush across the cat's fur to earn points. The faster you brush during a safe moment, the quicker you can build your score.
The challenge begins when Jjaemu turns around. You have to immediately stop brushing and remain still while the cat is watching. Continuing to move the brush after being noticed causes Jjaemu to attack, ending the current run with a sudden game-over reaction.
